NPP Days 26-29: One giant mega-post

ALRIGHT, so I’ve been absent a few days. We’re moving in exactly one week and I’ve been in a constant state of freakout for an entire week. I want to pack, but we’re not getting boxes until thursday (sidenote, if you’re looking for an alternative to cardboard moving boxes, try bungo box if they’re available in your city).

Anyway, I took a look at how many untested polishes were still in my box and decided there was no way I was gonna get that all done in time before they needed to be packed up to move to my new place. So I’ve been testing an ABSURD amount of polish. At this rate, I’ll be done Monday, just in time to make one final pass for dupes (more on that later) and then pack everything up into a nice, safe cardboard box for the harrowing 17 minute drive to my new place.

As usual, the testing of polishes is easy. Getting it up on this blog? Not so easy. Here are a bunch of polishes that I’ve tested over the past few days.

NPP Day 25: An assortment of nudes

A quick post today, because the lighting in my apartment was a pile of garbage

day 25 1

From left to right: Sephora by OPI in Three Way Mirror, Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Twiggy, and Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Shell We Dance? and Choco-Latte

Three Way Mirror: Super weird name, but this is a great polish. It’s a deep, pink-leaning-nude with great coverage and wear time. This is one of my favorites.

Twiggy: This is a weird color choice for me. It’s the color of a coffee that you’ve put WAY too much milk in, and it’s not something I normally reach for, but it’s truly a great formula. It took one coat for full opacity (though I usually do two). I’m keeping this.

Shell We Dance?: This is basically just another nude pink french polish, but I’m a sucker for the brush and the formula, so I’ll be keeping this.

Choco-Latte: This polish is apretty close match to the color of my skin (though it doesn’t show it in my horribly-lit photos), so it’s the true definition of a nude. I’ve repeatedly said I love this formulation of polish, so I don’t need to say it again. This is a keeper.

And here’s the look that I had to heavily adjust in photoshop because it’s hella dark out, and even then, the tone looks a little more orange than it really is in person:

day 25 2

And what a surprise. Four more keepers.

NPP Day 13: Mermaidy Goodness

Oops, I thought I had queued this up to be posted, but I actually just left it open in my drafts. My bad. So this is a late post, I guess.

Three polishes today:

day 13 polish 3

OPI Liquid Sand in It’s Frosty Outside

Liquid sand was a limited edition thing from OPI and it’s honestly one of my favorite polishes of all time. The texture isn’t overwhelming, and the sparkle is to die for. You can top it with a clear topcoat if you want to smooth out the texture, but it wears really well without a topcoat as well.

day 13 polish 2

SaQu Polish. No name, just a sticker on the bottom that says 099

This no-name polish works pretty well, but the wear time could be better. I’m keeping it for now, but I’ll be tossing it if a close enough color-dupe comes around.

day 13 polish 1

Sephora by OPI in Tempted By Teal

I really like this polish, but I also really like teal. As usual the OPI formula is solid. No complaints here.

And here’s the finished look. I love the teal and green together. Full disclosure, I picked three colors I knew I loved because I was going away for the weekend (spoiler alert: I actually pre-painted my nails for the week and queued them up) and the mani ended up holding up on my fingers for 5 days before some serious chips started happening. So overall solid job, nail polish.
